Terms of Service and Licence

1. The agreement

These terms are between you and Neural Ops, LLC. By installing or using MacTidy you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. What you get

We grant you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable licence to install and use MacTidy on Macs you own or control, for the term you have paid for. A licence key is activated per device and can be moved between devices.

3. What you may not do

• Resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or your licence key.
• Reverse engineer it, except where that right cannot be excluded by law, including Article 6 of EU Directive 2009/24/EC on interoperability.
• Remove or alter any notice in the app.
• Share a key beyond the devices your licence allows.

4. The trial

MacTidy includes a 15 day trial with every feature unlocked. No payment method is required to start it. Nothing charges automatically when it ends; the paid features simply stop working.

5. Subscription, renewal and cancellation

A subscription costs $19.99 per year unless stated otherwise at checkout, and renews annually until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from inside the app, which opens your subscription page with our payment provider. When you cancel, you keep MacTidy until the end of the period you have paid for.

We may change the price. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before it affects a renewal, and you can cancel instead.

6. Updates

Your subscription includes updates released while it is active. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove something you relied on, that is a reason to ask for a refund, and section 8 of the refund policy covers it.

7. What MacTidy does to your Mac

MacTidy deletes files and changes system settings when you tell it to. It shows you the list first and acts only when you press the button. You are responsible for what you choose to remove or change.

Two tools deserve specific attention:

• Data Recovery attempts to retrieve deleted files. Recovery frequently works and sometimes does not, depending on what the operating system has already overwritten. We do not guarantee that any particular file can be recovered.
• Secure Wipe destroys data on purpose, and that is not reversible. It says so before it runs.

Keep backups. No cleaning tool, ours included, is a substitute for one.

8. Disclaimer

Except where the law does not allow us to exclude it, MacTidy is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will find every piece of malware, recover every file, or be free of errors. Nothing in the app or on this site is a guarantee of security.

If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect. In the EU and the UK those include rights relating to digital content that is not as described or not of satisfactory quality.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with MacTidy is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You may stop using MacTidy at any time. We may terminate a licence that is being used in breach of section 3, after telling you why and giving you a chance to put it right where that is reasonable.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
